David is owner and manager of Originals, Etc. in Waupaca, WI. He paints realistic acrylics, home portraits, and murals. He has an MEPD from UW-Stevens Point. “At age four I saw a young woman doing a watercolor of Holbrook Lake in southeast Colorado and decided that I would be an artist,” he says. “I can't imagine not wanting to draw. After college, I spent many non-productive years trying to be a free spirit and paint abstractly only to find that when I returned to realism I found much more freedom. Although craftsmanship is an essential for me, I put more conscious effort into composition and emotional concerns than anything else.”
