Brenda is well-known to attendees of the Waupaca Fine Arts Festival. In 1994 she won the Foundry Purchase Award and her work recieved honorable mention in 1993 and 1995. She has shown her work throughout Wisconsin, and also at national exhibits in Texas and Mississippi. Brenda’s experiences as a kindergarten teacher and a parent influence her expressive painting style. “I am intrigued by the art of very young children,” she says. “They seem to have an inherent sense of design and utter lack of inhibition that I find truly amazing. Shape and interesting design are very important to me,” she says. “I often see humor in the world around me and express that in my paintings.”
